The goal of the project is to get this program up and running, and to sustain it for many years to come. This buddy program would include a wide variety of activities to provide support both the international students and the buddies.
The program would kick off each year with an orientation day, then move to weekly meetings or activities.
Some of the activities would include field trips, guest speakers, a book club, and having lunch together.
One of the highlights of the year would be the program participants attending the annual OHS Leadership Camp, which takes place in September at the Snider Mountain Ranch.
The program would also attempt to ensure that each International student would have a buddy in at least one of their classes. This daily support would greatly benefit the students both academically and socially.
