Project Name: We Are the World… at Priestman Street School

  • As our School and community continues to evolve, becoming more culturally and linguistically diverse, we as a school based team, are inspired to continue enhancing culturally vibrancy. Our aim is to make everyone who enters our school feel welcome included and valued.

  • Therefore, we feel our learning community is an excellent candidate to receive the Capacity for Courage Grant Program.

  • During the 2018/19 school year, our Intercultural Action Team will facilitate school-wide learning experiences and celebrations to highlight the countries of our new comer students.

  • These learning experiences will be enabled through cross- curricular (art, literacy and social studies) classroom studies.

  • Each month our entire learning community will focus on learning about one country our new comers have originated from and we will celebrate this country during our monthly school-wide Priestman Street School Positive Learning Recognition Assemblies.
