Town: Moncton

School Name: Forest Glen School

Project Name: Forest Glen Multicultural Day

  • At Forest Glen School, we have many cultures represented. In 2019, we have decided to host a full day of fun-filled activities and events geared at promoting multiculturalism within our school and our community. Our goal is to bring people together to learn about, to experience and to celebrate cultural differences.

  • During school hours, students will participate in various activities helping them experience the cultures identified and promoted at our school. These activities will include guest presentations, food sampling and many cultural experiences.

  • During the evening, we will host a multicultural event where the community will come together and celebrate cultural diversity.

  • We will have many stations representing the various cultures at our school. Each booth will provide samples of food from their specific country, showcase their traditions (clothes, music, dance) and display various artefacts specific to their region.

  • To create more involvement, a passport will be provided at point of entry where participants will be able to have them validated and stamped at each booth.

  • Some of the various cultures represented will be: Ukraine, Syria, India, Nigeria, Acadian, Irish-Celtic, Indigenous peoples, Asia and other.
